Asphalt Burning ist Titel und Ansage zugleich: Ein irrer Roadtrip in aufgemotzten Schlitten, mit maximalen Pferdestärken, adrenalingeladenen Actionsequenzen und einem Starensemble um den Norweger Anders Christiansen mit Alexandra Maria Lara, Henning Baum, Milan Peschel, Peter Kurth, Ruby O. Fee, Kostja Ullmann, Comedian Ralf Kabelka, Rapperin NURA, Auto-Youtuber Jean Pierre Kraemer aka JP, Schlagerlegende Wencke Myhre und dem Rock-Duo Alec „Boss Burns“ Völkel und Sascha „Hoss Power“ Vollmer von The BossHoss. Regisseur Hallvard Bræin gelang mit den Vorgängerfilmen BØRNING und BØRNING 2 zwei
der größten Kinohits in Norwegen. Nun stellt er den sympathisch-chaotischen Mustang-Fan Roy (Anders Baasmo Christiansen) dem deutschen Publikum vor, den es in Asphalt Burning bis nach Deutschland verschlägt. Die Kamera führt wieder Askild Vik Edvardsen. Die norwegisch-deutsche Koproduktion ist eine generationenübergreifende Culture-Clash-Comedy mit Speed, Spaß und jeder Menge Action und startet am 2. Januar 2021 weltweit auf Netflix.
Asphalt Burning wird von der deutschen Produktionsfirma Gifted Films West und dem Produzenten Reza Bahar und von der norwegischen Filmkameratene produziert. Als Koproduzenten fungieren SF-Studios, The Post Republic und TOBIS. Gefördert wurde der Film u.a. durch die Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, der Deutsche Filmförderfonds und dem Norwegian Filminstitute.

TEAM
Reza Bahar, the founder and CEO of Gifted Films and Gifted Films West, studied art history and economics at the University of Cologne. In 2002 he produced his first short film and decided to study film production. During his studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg he founded the production company Gifted Films in Ludwigsburg in 2004. In 2009, he founded the Cologne-based company Gifted Films West. He has produced several internationally successful and award-winning films to date.
Reza is an alumnus of the ACE Producers Network, the Berlinale Talent Campus and a member of the German and European Film Academies. He sat on the jury of the Hessische Filmförderung and was a lecturer at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and the HFF Munich.
